Work In The Waiting

I have an older MacBook Pro, the 2011, 13-inch to be exact and while it is not the oldest to be still in use, I sure have used mine to it’s fullest.

I write a lot of music and on average, record up to 4 or 5 ideas a day. This is also aside from all my photography files, clogging up the memory. I have not backed this laptop up since the day I first got it and now, it’s starting to catch up.

Things are starting to slow down, programs aren’t opening up as fast as they used to and even Safari is a slow on the jolt. It truly does suck especially, you want to get something up rapidly and it wears on you slowly but surely. But, it’s also causing me to slow down. It’s causing me to think, “It’s just so much work in the waiting, is what I have to say really worth the time I’m going use waiting for this to boot up?”

Ok. I guess that was an intensely large introduction to get this point: sometimes, waiting seems like so much work and it doesn’t help that we live in a society so obsessed with “instant gratification”. It seems like so much work to just sit there and wait for something to happen. It can make it harder when it used to be fast but now, it’s slowed down. Learn to think of the waiting as a chance to evaluate everything you do and if it’s worth spending your time on or even, spending your time with.

Some of you reading this may not be happy with where you’re at in life, or where you’ve been living… Hang in there. The waiting is always for worth it in the end. The difference between the mundane and the adventure is whether or not you listen to that little voice telling to wait. Sometimes we act out, foolishly but more often than not, we tend to overthink.

Enjoy the wait for the good that comes after it is usually worth it.
